The 34-year-old Trainwreck actress and comedienne said on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert recently that she and her sister had rented his two-bedroom apartment in New York City, adding it "wasn't that expensive." Inside his freezer was an old, frozen cake.
"And I would get drunk and I would eat it and I would talk as if he were there and I was at the party that the cake was served at," Schumer said.
The show then aired a video of Schumer holding up a slab of vanilla cake with a thick layer of white frosting and the words "Happy Birthday" and I'm a Princess" written on it in pink.
"It says 'Happy Birthday,' because it was your birthday. You're a supermodel and you're dating Jake Gyllenhaal but I am living here and I am eating this,'" she says, taking a bite.
It's unclear who she is referring to or when the video was recorded.
"I'm living a great life," Schumer told Colbert.
On Late Night With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, the talk show host talked to Gyllenhaal about the cake-eating incident, pulling out an even bigger slab of the cake, or one resembling it.
"Hey Princess, what's going on?" the actor said.
