The day has finally come! Leonardo DiCaprio has ditched his mountain man persona for an much better, much more trimmed beard.

The actor stepped out (or should we say pedaled?) in New York City on Tuesday for a bike ride, but it's his lack of facial hair that's grabbing our attention.

DiCaprio kept it casual in a gray graphic T-shirt, navy shorts and baseball hat while hitting the Big Apple streets with a group of four guy friends and one mystery girl.

Back in July, DiCaprio was still rocking quite a bushy beard when he spoke at The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation's 2nd Annual Saint-Tropez Gala in France. Just a week prior, Leo announced his organization donated a staggering $15 million in grants to more than 30 organizations dedicated to conservation projects around the globe.

DiCaprio commented on the major milestone, saying, "We have a responsibility to innovate a future where the habitability of our planet does not come at the expense of those who inhabit it."

The charitable activist has also been spending a fair amount of time out and about with Sports Illustrated model Kelly Rorhbach. Though Kelly opted out of his most recent excursion, it appears Leo is especially keen on the city's bike sharing program, Citi Bikes.

And although the 40-year-old shared some sweet PDA with the blond bombshell on their bike date, an insider tells E! News,"Leo and Kelly are just hanging out at this time. Nothing serious. They are having fun and enjoying the summer. Kelly and Leo are not exclusive yet."

Well now that the DiCaprio has said "hasta la vista" to the bushy beard, Kelly might just be running a little faster to make their budding romance exclusive! Plus, he's much more aerodynamic this way.
