Oh the little things that get Directioners so excited!

There's no question that some loyal fans of One Direction still want to see Zayn Malik and the gang back together. Perhaps that can easily explain why the Twitter universe seriously freaked out over the weekend when #ZaynIsComingBack began to trend across the country.

Some teenage girls were absolutely thrilled with the news while others had their share of hesitations. So what's really going on with the boy band? As it turns out, Malik is not joining the group anytime soon.

A source close to both One Direction and Malik told GossipCop exclusively that "he is not returning to 1D." Cue the emotions in 3…2…1.

So how did such rumors start up again? As it turns out, Directioners had some pretty creative evidence.

The band's official Facebook page reportedly deleted it's March 25 post announcing that Malik had left the band. In addition, the group's official website decided to reupload Malik's profile page.

Fans also pointed out two tweets that may appear to be nothing to the average follower. But for devoted fans, it was enough to get rumors spreading.

"Lots to tell you over the next few days," Simon Cowell tweeted back on June 4. "Just wanted to say hello."

Producer Naughty Boy also wrote, "Made enough to go legit but you just can't quit." It's too much for Directioners!

Despite all the headlines, everyone involved appears to be moving forward with their respective careers. Besides, there may be plenty of opportunities to reunite like at this summer's Teen Choice Awards when One Direction and Malik are up for the same award.
