The final Mad Max: Fury Road trailer has been released!

In the action-packed clip, Charlize Theron steals the spotlight with her rugged look, also putting on full display a shaved buzz cut and her character's bionic arm. The Warner Brothers flick tells the story of those who must fight to the death in a post-apocalyptic world.

The opening part of the clip shows a desert filled with a gunslinging, war-painted army run trying to reinstate control over all that has been lost.

Max, played by Tom Hardy, joins forces with a mysterious and fierce woman named Furiousa (Charlize Theron) to defeat all odds stacked against them.

"A man who is reduced to a single instinct: Survive," Hardy explains. "So I exist in this wasteland, hunted by scavengers."

Theron can be seen driving through the mountainous wasteland with her rebel gang, as they aim to regain their freedom stolen by suppressive foragers laden with explosives. The cunning group of rebels includes the likes of Nicholas Hoult and Riley Keough, whose skills and loyalty attract Mad Max.

Directed by George Miller, this flick will be a reboot of the 1979 Mad Max movie which originally starred Mel Gibson.

"George [Miller] really wanted a woman to stand alongside Max. And that was all I knew, and I just thought, ‘Whoa, for a woman to stand next to him in that world, that would be pretty f***ing cool,'" Theron dished to Total film. "He was really kind of exploring women in this world at every age and there was something, selfishly, that I thought was almost better than Max."

Mad Max: Fury Road is due to hit theaters on May 15, 2015.
