Zayn Malik is reaching out to fans a few weeks after he shocked everyone by leaving One Direction.

The 22-year-old singer took to Twitter earlier today to share a heartfelt message with his supporters following all of the 1D drama.

"Wanna say thanks to everyone that's been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all.. you know who you are x," the Brit hunk wrote before adding, "The x is a kiss by the way ha it's not a mystery .. sorry to any confused."

Zayn's thank you was his first tweet in nearly a month.

Zayn announced he was leaving One Direction almost four weeks ago saying, "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."

Last week, Zayn made his first red carpet appearance since leaving One Direction at the 2015 Asia Awards in London with his mom by his side. While accepting his award for Outstanding Achievement in Music, he thanked his former bandmates. "I'd like to thank my mum and dad for making me Asian," Zayn joked. "I'd also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys that I ever met whilst being in the band and doing all the amazing things that I did. Some of the things that we did will stay with me for the rest of my life...Here's to the future."

Zayn also recently told The Sun of life post-boy band, "All is good. I'm doing all right."
