Kim Kardashian made Time magazine's 2015 100 Most Influential People list, which was revealed on Thursday, and joins husband Kanye West as well as pop star Taylor Swift, Bradley Cooper and returning honorees Pope Francis and President Barack Obama.
Kardashian, who had earlier this year made the outlet's list of 30 Most Influential People on the Internet, is "beautiful in an exotic, totally exaggerated way, Kim exudes energy, sexuality, drama, determination, impetuousness and happiness," Time guest writer Martha Stewart writes, adding, "But she and her famous, entrepreneurial siblings—shepherded by a savvy, tireless matriarch—have also expanded the very definition of family."
Stewart calls Kardashian's family "a blended family, of Armenian descent, with biracial pairings," noting her marriage to West, and adds, "They work hard, and they stick together through thick and thin."
Both are listed on Time's "titans" category, along with the likes of SNL Executive Producer Lorne Michaels and Empire creator Lee Daniels. Kanye also made Time's 100 list in 2005.
Swift, who, as we know, has a bit of history with Kanye, is named among its "icons," along with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Björk. Swift had also made Time's 100 list in 2010.
Mariska Hargitay, whose Law & Order: SVU character had inspired the name of Swift's cat Meredith, writes in Time that the singer is "seems tuned in to the greater good, and she embraces—thoughtfully and authentically—the chance to contribute to the world."
"I'm always trying to find the best words to talk to my kids (and myself) about growing up, but you can't top her beautifully articulated advice," she says. "The haters are gonna hate, but, well, shake it off. She illuminates our inner music that lets us dance to our own beat."
"Along with her staggering list of accomplishments, perhaps the most exciting thing about Taylor is that she's just getting started with what she plans to mine from her fierce, curious, boundlessly talented and beautiful heart," the actress adds. "Also, it doesn't hurt that she named her cat after me."
Bradley Cooper, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for his title role in American Sniper, is named among the "artists" on Time's Most Influential People list, along with Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World actor and Parks and Recreation alum Chris Pratt, comics and actors Kevin Hart and Amy Schumer, The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies and fellow 2015 Oscar nominee and Boyhood director Richard Linklater.
In a piece written by Oliver Platt, who co-starred with the actor on the show Nip/Tuck, calls Cooper a "cinematic chameleon."
"Our characters had this wonderfully twisted relationship: I was a closeted TV producer in mad, unrequited love with Bradley, the ambitious, manipulative star of my soap opera," Platt says. "During our first take, he grabbed me by the lapels, threw me against a wall and launched into this insane in-character, off-script rant about how my not going to the gym was breaking his disgusted heart. Apparently, in our line of work, this is how great friendships begin."
"It's a surreal thing to be included in anything that has to do with Time magazine, let alone the 100 list, so it's a huge privilege for me," Cooper told Time in a behind-the-scenes video.
He cited American Sniper and said, "If it does anything at all, it helps spread awareness for veterans' issues."
The Pope and Obama have been featured on Time's list several times, most recently in 2014. Among the other honorees that year were music stars Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Carrie Underwood and Pharrell Williams.
