Apparently, in the '90s, Sizzler wanted to make a commercial that acted not so much as an ad for their restaurant and food, but as a manic, patriotic fever dream.

This 1991 promo for Sizzler has been making the rounds on the Internet today because…well, just watch it and you'll see exactly why people can't stop talking about it. But you should definitely have a wallet nearby to put under your tongue as you'll surely have a seizure after viewing the commercial.

It's weirdly patriotic, with a song that has lyrics like, "We will make the most of all the best that freedom brings" and a voice-over guy that says stuff like "Americans have rediscovered, are redefining, what's really important in their lives." And then there are images of Americans doing American stuff? And also steak.

It's actually the most insane video on the Internet right now. So the message of this commercial is this:

When you think of...

A construction worker smiling at you for a second longer than you're comfortable with…

YouTube

A business guy doing business stuff in a business-like manner...

YouTube

And an old fisherman who appears to be plotting something sinister while he stands next to a little girl…

YouTube

You should think of Sizzler the steakhouse. And America.
