Joe Biden certainly isn't wasting any time giving the new Defense Secretary's wife a warm White House welcome. Er, but someone should probably tell him to ease up on the touchy feely-ness? Maybe? Here's what went down...
Stephanie Carter was on hand to watch her husband, Ashton Carter, get sworn in for his new role and as he delivered his speech to the press, the Veep ended up stealing the whole show.
Biden was seen putting his hands on Stephanie's shoulders and whispering sweet nothings into her ear behind the podium while Ashton addressed the media.
Sure, we can chalk it up to Biden just being super friendly, but this seems to be a habit for the meme-able politician.
Lest we forget that back in January (yup, just a few weeks ago, you guys), Biden also got handsy with Senator Chris Coons' daughter Maggie during the Senate's swearing-in ceremony.
Coons later told reporters that Biden was just giving Maggie some positive words of encouragement, but the photos showed her looking visible uncomfortable during a lot of the photo op.
But unlike Maggie, Stephanie appears to nod in agreement with whatever Biden told her during their not-so-private exchange and then proceeds to listen closely to her husband's first words as Defense Secretary.
Regardless, we'd be lying if we said we didn't want to know exactly what he was saying to both ladies.
