When Matt McGorry appeared shirtless in season one of Orange Is the New Black we were anything but disappointed.

McGorry, who plays prison guard John Bennett on the hit Netflix show, wasn't as impressed.

"I found out I had to do this shirtless scene and I was like, 'Oh, God,'" the actor told me at Savannah College of Art and Design's aTVfest. "I had like a week and a half [to] buckle down,'"

And then he got a look at an early cut of the episode.

"I was kind of disappointed," McGorry said. "I was like, 'Oh, man, I missed the mark—damn it!'"

It's important to note that McGorry used to be personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder. "When you're used to being at a point where you're deadlifting close to 600 pounds, getting to be 5.5 percent body fat and seeing veins in places you shouldn't see them, it kind of skews your understanding of what is normal and OK," he said.

Netflix revealed at the end of the finale of House of Cards' season two that OITNB will back on June 6.

Will we see more of McGorry's fine physique?

"I don't know if I could give any of that away," McGorry said. "I don't know if I can tell you any of that."

What he can say is to get ready for some more drama between Bennett and Dayanara, the inmate who is pregnant with his baby.

"You can't exactly have candlelight dinners," McGorry said, adding, "You'll get to see Bennett sweat a lot."

Here's hoping he's shirtless when he's sweating.
