Yesterday Ashlee Simpson announced her engagement to Evan Ross and even shared a photo of her engagement ring. Now, E! News has confirmed that the bling was designed by Neil Lane, who collaborated with Ross on a truly unique sparkler.
"It is a marquise-cut diamond ring in platinum and gold, accented with rubies," a rep for Lane shared.
That's right, rubies—as in the same gem that is featured in older sister Jessica Simpson's engagement ring, which coincidentally was also designed by Lane. But although both gals' bling feature the same stones, the design is almost opposite. Jessica's ruby sits in the center surrounded by pear-shaped diamonds.
Although it is unknown if Ashlee's pending nuptials will be in 2014, older sister Jessica Simpson is set to marry this year.
It has been quite a whirlwind romance for Ashlee and Evan, who were first spotted out together in July of last year. We know that Simpson has met her now fiancé's famous mother, Diana Ross, as the three posed on the red carpet together at the Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story premiere in NYC last October.
