That usually takes the form of body-hugging micro minis with a plunging neckline, or as we like to call it, diva wear. But this time the former American Idol judge stepped out in something fit for an indie rock after party. Can't you see Kate Hudson or Sheryl Crow rocking this boho Alexander McQueen combo? Does this mean Mariah is trading in her famous pipes for an acoustic guitar?
Music shifts aside, we love the gold polka dots all over this floor-length black skirt. You may remember that Mariah wore the gown version of this look on Idol last season, but this time she's chopped off the matching top piece and opted for a midriff halter instead. We're bigger fans of the original design, but the bottom is too gorgeous to make us throw it out on account of the boring top.
