Fox Announces Premiere Dates for American Idol, The Following and More

Idol will have a two-night, four hour premiere

It seems like only yesterday that we were speculating who would be the new judges for American Idol. Actually, that time of our TV life seem to stretch on for eons, but we digress.

Fox has announced the premiere date for American Idol's 13th season, as well as the return date for its smash hit drama series The Following.

American Idol comes back with a semi-new judging panel that includes Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. with a four-hour, two night premiere starting on Wed., Jan. 15. The season-opener will also be the start of former judge Randy Jackson's new gig as in-house mentor.

Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy continue their cat and mouse game when The Following's second season returns on Monday, Jan. 20 following the season-one finale of Sleepy Hollow.

In other scheduling news, Glee will take its annual Spring hiatus after their midseason premiere in December. Its return date is TBD.

Other notable premiere dates for Fox in the 2014 including the new Army comedy series Enlisted (Jan. 10) and the new Greg Kinnear dramedy Rake (Jan. 19).
