Unsurprisingly, Amy Poehler has some unconventional methods when it comes to preparing for her upcoming hosting gig at the 2014 Golden Globes.

"I go to a ranch for two weeks. No talking. No food just juice. And then I consult my astrologer," the funnylady quipped to Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday, Oct. 24. "Then I go into a cave and I just lie on the ground and I have people just shout jokes into the cave."

But she didn't stop there: "And I just let the wind take it and if it lands it's good and if it doesn't it goes away. Then I just drive my solid gold Porsche right into a brick wall and I prank call Sandra Bullock and I get started."

While the comedian undoubtedly has a sense of humor when it comes to hosting the Golden Globes alongside pal Tina Fey, which the longtime friends have signed on to do for the next two years (!), the 42-year-old star admits she still feels the pressure when she takes the stage in front of all those famous faces.

"I do," Poehler confessed when asked if she gets nervous. "It is a weird thing. As you know, you look out in the audience and the audience…everyone's famous."

"Major famous," Ellen added, after noting that Amy and Tina are "fantastic together."

"Major famous, which is strange," Poehler continued. "But I have a little pregame ritual. You probably do something. You're hosting, you probably get ready and prepare every day as well, as well as when you do your big award shows."

And after Amy shared her unique ranch ritual, to which Ellen replies, "That's what I do," the fellow hosts continue sharing their mutual love and admiration for each other.

"I am excited to see you as well," Poehler said of DeGeneres, who will host the Oscars in 2014. "You are such an unbelievable host I think it going to be a terrific show."

"It is scary though to do this is one thing, but to host the Globes or the Oscars is a whole different thing," Ellen added. "It's a fun and that's why we push ourselves. Because we like to scare ourselves, right?"

"That's right," Amy agreed. "Nervous and excited are often the same physical feeling. It just kind of how you frame it."

Can't wait to see both funnygals totally nail their hosting gigs!
