Marc Jacobs is stepping down as the creative director of Louis Vuitton after clocking a whopping 16 years with the luxury label.
There's no denying that in that time, Jacobs—who introduced Louis Vuitton's first clothing line—helped transform what was once a luggage company into one of the world's most lucrative labels in the industry.
And in a move befitting his legendary tenure with the company, the fashion designer went out with a bang, giving fashion fans quite the presentation for his final collection with the French fashion house.
Guests like Lady Gaga, Anna Wintour and Kate Moss sat in the front row, where they took in a decadent runway set-up, including a carousel, hotel rooms and an elevator—all odes to sets from Jacobs' past runway shows—as well as a parade of models sporting ornate feathered headdresses.
The designer, who dedicated his last collection to "the women who inspire me and to the show girl in every one of them," received a standing ovation for his final bow.
So, what's next for the fashion guru?
According to Women's Wear Daily, Jacobs will concentrate on an IPO for his eponymous brand.
