Prentiss is back!

Paget Brewster is set to return to Criminal Minds as fan favorite Emily Prentiss for the CBS hit drama's 200th episode, E! has confirmed. "Our 200th episode is going to be a special show," Erica Messer, Criminal Minds' showrunner, said in a statement. "We can't imagine telling this story without Paget being present."

The episode, which will air in February, will feature flashbacks that will shed light on what happened to J.J. Jareau (A.J. Cook) during her year away from the BAU. These glimpses into the past will also prove valuable in the team's efforts to solve a present day case.

After taking a hiatus from the series in its sixth season to film a comedy pilot, Brewster permanently exited Criminal Minds after its seventh season. "After six wonderful years playing Emily Prentiss, I have decided it's time for me to move on," she said in a statement at the time. "As much as I will miss my Criminal Minds family, I am excited about the future and other opportunities." Since leaving, she's guest-starred on Modern Family and Law & Order: SVU.

Brewster teased her return to the long-running drama earlier this month when she tweeted a picture from the set.

Criminal Minds, which stars Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness and Jeanne Tripplehorn, airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. on CBS.
