Naomi Campbell Reveals That Models Can Feel Insecure, Too—Even With Those Legs!

Supermodel opens up about catwalk confidence during an interview with host Nick Grimshaw

If you think that supermodel Naomi Campbell takes to major runways with infinite amounts of confidence, think again.

Yes, Campbell struts her stuff like no other—letting her famed gams do the talking on catwalks for some of the biggest designer names in the business. But while in London last week to attend an event for the new season of The Face, Campbell opened up to host Nick Grimshaw about the pre-catwalk qualms she still deals with after more than two decades in the industry.

 "I'm not actually very confident," she revealed. "I never want to be sure of myself, because I think if I get to that place, I'll never do another show."

Campbell expanded on the admission, alluding to past runway flubs: "Last week in New York and the week before I crossed myself. I'm nervous backstage because anything can happen. It's live. I've had a fall, I've lost a skirt, I've had a top fall off."

(Luckily for Naomi, she looks great even when she falls.)

The model wore a white-hot skirt suit and black platform booties to the event, and was joined by her Face cohosts on the red carpet. The series follows Naomi and two other supermodel coaches, Anne V and Lydia Hearst-Shaw (who replaced the pilot season's cohosts, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha), as they compete to find the new face of ULTA. The second season is slated to premiere in early 2014.
