Turns out, Jennifer Lawrence has more in common with her Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen than we first thought.

"It's hard to say you identify with someone who's facing life and death and war," she explains in the November issue of Empire magazine (as reported by Digital Spy). "It's not like, 'Oh my God that's, like, totally how I feel.'"

"But there is the connection in that she doesn't feel like just part of the town anymore," she continues. "Now everyone treats her as a celebrity...Whereas she still feels like she's part of them."

Makes sense, considering Lawrence catapulted to superstardom after landing the highly coveted role in the film franchise and continued to quickly achieve critical acclaim after starring alongside Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook.

The rest is, well, Academy Awards history after Lawrence took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the David O. Russell-directed flick, instantly becoming one of the mos -buzzed-about—and beloved—A-listers.

"I get that a lot," she said while discussing whether people treat her differently now that she's a big screen star. "I'll go to get a coffee where I always get coffee and all of a sudden there's this weird mood, and I'm like, 'Come on, I still get coffee here, just say hello.'"

Lawrence is well known for her humble attitude, a rarity in Hollywood, and her Hunger Games costar Liam Hemsworth even recently said that "nothing has gone to her head over the last few years," adding that "you wouldn't even know" Jennifer took home the coveted golden statue last year.

A fact which the 23-year-old beauty is all to eager to joke about.

"Well, of course I changed," she told Empire when asked if she's become more of a diva on the Hunger Games set. "I told them, 'Things are going to be a little different around here from now on.'"

This isn't the first time Lawrence has opened up about her down-to-earth attitude. She previously spoke with Fabulous magazine and shared how she has managed to remain grounded, despite being one of the biggest stars in Tinseltown.

"I just constantly feel so lucky, that I don't really have time to feel cocky," she said. "I was raised to have value for money, to have respect for money, even though you have a lot of it."

"My family is not the kind of family that would ever let me turn into an a--hole or anything like that, so I am fortunate to have them," she added, nothing that she stays away from the celeb scene and hangs out with people "who know me, like my close friends who I have known forever and my family obviously."

Lawrence is currently filming the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay in Atlanta.

The second installment in the series, Catching Fire, will open wide Nov. 22.
