The Queen of Twerk was dethroned on the charts by a self-professed commoner!

Yes, Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" was ousted from its No. 1 spot on iTunes (at least temporarily) by Lorde's "Royals" on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The 16-year-old New Zealand singer was excited by her career milestone, but also a little wary.  "wo #1 on US itunes. even if it lasts an hour i feel HAPPY," she tweeted, "downside is all these miley fans telling me they're gonna stab my rotting corpse."

Calm down, y'all. For one, Lorde's music sounds nothing like Miley's, and somehow we don't think the teenage prodigy will be attempting any twerk-offs in the near future.

Plus, Ms. Cyrus can afford to vacate that top spot for a little bit. On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the 20-year-old star tweeted that "Wrecking Ball " was "#1 on Billboard. #1 on iTunes. #1 on Spotify. #1 on Streaming. #1 on Digital songs. #1 most added to pop radio. #1 on VEVO."

So let's everybody let Lorde have a moment. Miley's doing fine.
