Big Brother 15 Cast

Calling all reality-TV lovers, this news is for you!

CBS has just announced that their reality staple, Big Brother, has been renewed for a 16th season. Despite the overwhelming amount of controversy this season's cast has stirred up, the network is ready to see a new group of roommates battle it out next summer in the house.

In addition, fans can also tune-in to the live, late night companion show, Big Brother: After Dark, when it returns to TVGN in 2014 for its second season. Big Brother is currently wrapping up its 15th edition and the final three roommates will compete for the grand prize of $500,000 on Sept. 18.

Big Brother, which premiered on CBS in 2000, has become a summer staple as one of television's most tweeted about reality competitions and boasts a large and passionate online fan base. The hit series recently celebrated its 500th episode, and has been drawing in an average of 7.29 million viewers each week, an 11 percent increase from last year's numbers.

This season, Big Brother has been consistently creating headlines due to some racist and homophobic remarks, as well as inappropriate jokes from some of this season's houseguests. In fact both the CBS CEO and Host Julie Chen have spoken out against the behavior. Fingers crossed that next year's contestants will have much better manners.

Don't miss the special 90-minute season finale of Big Brother Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 9:30 p.m. to see the final three houseguests compete for the $500,000 grand prize.
