Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

Well, John Mayer seems to be suggesting just that with his latest effort to promote his new album, Paradise Valley.

After all, it appears the singer has taken a bit of a cue from girlfriend Katy Perry by posting a pic on Facebook of a semi truck adorned with a majestic-looking image complete with Mayer himself and the words, "John Mayer. Paradise Valley. The new album. Available everywhere."

Naturally, the photo immediately conjures up memories of the gold big rig that Perry herself used back in July to get the word out on her upcoming album Prism and its release date of October 22.

Back then, Perry enthusiastically tweeted to fans, "Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map."

Meanwhile, Mayer wrote the caption for his photo, "Off this week and then next up is South America!! Are you ready for JM??"

No word if his lady friend will be joining him in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but it wouldn't be a complete surprise seeing how she did accompany him on his tour bus recently.
