Naomi Watts

Well, you can't win 'em all.

Naomi Watts was an absolute vision in a form-fitting white Versace dress at the world premiere of Diana, in which she portrays the late Princess of Wales, today at the Odeon Leicester Square in London.

The asymetrical neckline, cleavage-baring keyhole and daring side slit showed off the 44-year-old mother of two's incredible figure to a tee as she walked the red carpet.

Dazzling earrings, peep-toe black Louboutins and a loose updo completed the polished—but not severe—look.

So where did it all go wrong?!

Still looking pretty stunning, Watts changed into an LBD with sheer long sleeves and different black heels.

Something went awry in the touch-up department, however, because a fair amount of makeup was still caked around her nose when the photographers got a hold of her.

Consider that attempt to mattify her T-zone a bust.

Otherwise, nothing looked amiss.

Also at the Diana premiere tonight were costars Cas Anvar, who plays Dodi Fayed in the biopic; Naveen Andrews, who plays Hasnat Khan; Juliet Stevenson; and Daniel Pirrie.

In doing interview after interview in support of the film (and staying for the duration of almost all of them!), Watts expressed trepidation about taking on the role of such an iconic figure as Princess Diana and initially turned it down twice.

And tonight on the red carpet the British actress delved into how she managed to get a grip on the part.

"Usually when you take on a character you work from the inside and then get to the outside and focus on the appearance and the walk and the voice and things like that, but in this case I did it in the reverse direction," Watts told reporters. "Starting with the look and the voice, obviously being the most important one and then getting into the interior life after."

And "when you saturate yourself with that much information, it just sort of is in you and it manifests in different ways and it came up in my dreams," she added. "Someone said that I got permission [from Diana], which is just silly and absurd."

But still sort of lovely at the same time, like a gorgeous star with a little extra powder on her nose.
