Something about this Balmain mini says, "first day of school" outfit. We think it has something to do with the denim jumpers we wore all through the '90s. But those giant shoulder pads and gold buttons make the House of Harlow designer look like an Upper East side lady on her way to a fancy lunch.
And yet, that old-meets-young vibe is exactly what we love about this look. It's playful thanks to the denim, but formal on account of the shape. Nicole finishes the fashion off right with a pair of fall's trending footwear: lace-up booties. This pair from Bionda Castana keep the fun yet formal theme going with rough, suede fabric but gold detailing.
We weren't so sure at first, but we're on board with this outfit now. We'll consider it Nicole's "first day of school with the ladies who lunch" look. What's your say?
