It was Willennium all over again.

Turning up to promote his new movie, After Earth, on The Late Show With David Letterman Monday night, Will Smith proved he's still got the musical chops after bursting into an impromptu rap of his hit "Summertime."

Strolling out to the funky song, which Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra played as his intro, Big Willie couldn't resist grabbing the mic and laying down a few verses for old time's sake.

Of course, before he was a Hollywood megastar, Smith made a name for himself as a highly successful hip-hop star.

While his last musical venture was the 2005 album Lost and Found, the A-lister still gets jiggy with it on occasion—like in March, when he rapped the theme to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for a bunch of schoolgirls at a South London high school in Great Britain.
