Hot off the heels of announcing her engagement to Jamie Watson, the bride-to-be chopped off her long locks last week. And just as she took to Twitter to show off her engagement ring, Britney Spears' younger sister chronicled every step of her new 'do on the social networking site.
"bnewell2211 about to cut my hair #ahhhhhhh #newhurrdo," she tweeted, along with a pic of her hairstylist's tools.
But whatever apprehension she may have felt seems to have disappeared post-haircut, when she tweeted a picture of her lovely new layered bob—complete with glossy new highlights—with the airy message "shorthairDontcare."
The shock of her drastically new 'do seems to have taken a few minutes to settle in.
"bnewell2211 still can't believe we did this!!" she wrote.
Jamie joins the ranks of other short-haired celebs, like Julianne Hough, Naomi Watts and January Jones, who have shorn their hair to make a bold beauty statement. But if you can't commit to bidding your long locks goodbye, you can always fake it with a faux bob à la Zooey Deschanel. Whether you choose to share your hairstyle with the Twitterverse is up to you!
