When it comes to working short hair, Ginnifer Goodwin is literally a cut above the rest.

The Once Upon a Time star has consistently wowed celeb watchers and fashionistas with her über-stylish pixie 'do, which easily goes from gamine gracefulness to punky insouciance with the flip of a brush..

Turns out, getting her look may not seem a tricky as one might think. Here, she shares with us her basics on keeping things both short and sweet.

1. Embrace That Bedhead: The star readily acknowledges the perils of early morning short hair, recently telling us at a Listerine event in NYC, "It will be more fierce than any bedhead you've ever experienced as a long-haired person." So, she's made her peace with it. "I've had to [rock beadhead] because sometimes it's just going to go in the direction it's going to go in." So there.

2. Get a Straightening Iron: "I have very curly hair," the 34-year-old concedes, which makes this beauty accessory quite the handy tool to the star. "I like a little wave, but not much. I'm am really keen on my straightening iron."

3. Scruff It Up: "Don't be afraid of a little dirt," the star offers, saying that sometimes, it's OK to keep things rough around the edges.
