The fashion designer's dad lost his battle with kidney cancer a little over a week ago after fighting "hard for a year," Port reveals in a blog post.
She also penned a heartfelt letter to her caring father, which she read at his celebration service, and she's now sharing it with her fans in a post titled "I Love You Forever and Always."
"Dear Dad, I'd like to start off by telling you how much I love you and how much I miss you," she begins. "I miss your love, your voice and mostly right now just your touch. If I had to live my life once over I wouldn't change anything. Even if it meant losing you too soon, it would be worth all of the tears in the world because you were simply the greatest."
She continues, sharing how hard it has been to heal after his death, "I am certain that your love for us was pure and always without judgment. While my heart is broken and nothing seems to make sense right now, I am still holding on to every word you have said, every lesson you have taught, every memory and will continue to do so as I will always feel your presence," she writes. She ends the touching letter with the reassurance that her father will "no longer struggle" and even chides that he can "play golf" when he pleases.
"Until the day we meet again, our family will not be complete," the 28-year-old concludes. "But know we will thrive forever in your honor and live to make you smile."
