Ed Asner Released From Hospital After Being Treated for Exhaustion

Veteran actor received medical attention on Tuesday after he had trouble speaking during his one-man show, FDR, in Gary, Ind.

Ed Asner's heath is on the up and up.

The iconic Mary Tyler Moore Show vet and voice actor for Pixar's Up was discharged from a Chicago-area hospital Thursday after being treated for exhaustion.

Per Reuters, the 83-year-old actor's rep said that Asner was en route to Los Angeles, where he is under doctors' orders pull back on his schedule and rest.

The Emmy-winning actor was hospitalized Tuesday night after he suddenly began having trouble speaking during a performance of his one-man show, FDR, in Gary, Ind.

Reportedly, the film and TV star cut short his performance as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt about 15 minutes into the show when he started struggling with his lines.

Ever the funnyman, Asner later took to Twitter to give fans a heads-up on his condition.

"Reports of my imminent demise are greatly exaggerated," he tweeted Wednesday. "They tell me I am suffering from exhaustion. Thanks for the good wishes!"

Asner's has canceled his remaining FDR shows in Milwaukee and Tennessee, but his rep tells Reuters that "Ed will resume performing FDR in mid-April, but, of course, we'll have to see how his health is."
