Backstreet Boy Batting Practice: Watch Nick Carter Swing at AJ McLean's, er, Strike Zone

If the popular boy band were a fraternity, we imagine this might be part of the hazing process as A.J. McLean proves he has "balls of steel"

Talk about black and blue!

Just because they're all grown men in their their mid-to-late 30s (or in Kevin Richardson's case, 40s!), that doesn't mean the Backstreet Boys can't horse around like the old days.

But that's exactly what Nick Carter was doing when he was caught swinging a baseball bat at bandmate AJ McLean's, ahem, boys during a photo shoot with celebrity photography Tyler Shields.

Shields ended up posting a video of the behind-the-scenes ball-busting "fun" on Twitter and Youtube.

We guess A.J. wanted it that way.

In any case, when he's not protecting his privates, McLean and his fellow Backstreeters are gearing up to celebrate their 20th anniversary on April 20 by dropping a new album. Two days later, the world's best-selling boy band is set to receive their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and they'll follow that up in May by kicking off a world tour in Beijing.
