TV's great will-they-or-won't-they pairings can welcome a new couple into the fold!

The Mindy Project fans are divided into two camps when it comes to Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny's (Chris Messina) relationship: Some are rooting for the chemistry-havin' duo to get together, while others are hoping the two never hook up and remain bitterly bantering for the series' entire run. (Judging from the second season renewal, it seems like viewers won't be getting a definitive answer anytime soon.)

We visited the Fox hit sitcom's set to chat with creator, star and all-around awesome lady Mindy Kaling to get her thoughts on the future of Mindy and Danny's relationship.

Similar to the show's fans, Kaling is battling "two urges" when it comes to Mindy and Danny, but says she is aware of the reaction the pairing has been getting. "Since the show is so new I don't know what the show is going to be," she explains. "I am a little bit more in the know than the audience, but it's great to see what the reactions are and how things turn out."

Working against a romantic relationship between the docs? "Chris and I love acting together, we have good chemistry together and people wonder if anything is going to happen, but I can also see it being very avuncular, his relationship with Mindy and more like Liz Lemon and Jack in 30 Rock."

Alas, there is hope: "It would be a pity to go through this series and not kiss Chris Messina, so I'm also fighting that urge, but I just have to do that off-camera I suppose!" Kaling says.
