However, the U.S. actor and wife Evi, still believe that the "Hollywood star whackers" are after them, and therefore, have filed an appeal in federal court.
"Organized crime and its victims are serious issues and can not be tossed off until the claim is heard," the couple stated in an application for judicial review obtained by CBC News this week.
"The refugee claims should remain intact as should Evi and Randy Quaid's heads remain attached to their necks and it is their firm belief that their lives are at stake and being racketeered on," the statement said.
Their trouble began in 2010 when Randy and Evi were arrested for causing more than $5,000 in damage at a home they were renting. Although the duo pleaded not guilty, drama struck when they failed to show up to court after posting bail.
Then, the couple resurfaced in Vancouver and claimed that they could not come back to the States because their lives were threatened.
Quaid's rep was not immediately available for comment.
