Lindsay Lohan's The Canyons Faces Rejection by Another Film Festival, While Actress Parts Ways With Longtime Attorney

South by Southwest reportedly turns down film on the heels of Sundance doing the same thing; troubled star no longer represented by lawyer Shawn Holley

Lindsay Lohan is starting to run out of film festivals.

In the wake of Sundance turning down the troubled star's erotic thriller, The Canyons, it seems as if South by Southwest (SXSW) has also rejected the movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The industry trade cites a source that says the film suffers from significant "quality issues," while a festival insider notes the Paul Schrader-directed project has "an ugliness and a deadness to it."

It's just the latest hit for Lohan in recent days.

E! News has confirmed that the troubled actress and her longtime attorney, Shawn Holley, have officially parted ways.

The separation had been alluded to when Holley entered a plea of not guilty to violating probation, on the star's behalf, in a Los Angeles courtroom last week. At one point, Holley told the judge that "the representation issue will be nailed down," by the time Lohan's trial starts on Feb. 27.

E! News has obtained a motion filed by Lohan's New York attorney, Mark Heller, asking to be named the star's new lawyer. A hearing will be held on Jan. 24 on whether Heller should be allowed to practice in California on this case despite not being a member of the California Bar.

UPDATE 1/24/13: Court tells E! News that all motions, including the one regarding Lohan's counsel, will now be heard on the actress's next court date on Jan. 30.
