Not that they sprung out of nowhere, Blunt having her breakthrough role in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006, Krasinski starring on The Office for the past seven years and the two joining forces in 2010, with many an acclaimed role in between.
But don't they seem to suddenly be on all of the I-wanna-hang-out-with-them wish lists these days? Apparently once you've acted with these two, you just can't get enough. Let's examine the evidence...
The nonevent that was Leatherheads didn't keep George Clooney from chatting up his former costar and wife at the 2012 SAG Awards—and Stacy Keibler apparently thinks Blunt is hilarious.
Dahling, how are you? Blunt got chummy with fellow Brit Colin Firth when they shot the indie dramedy Arthur Newman together, and they had a happy reunion at the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy afterparty.
Krasinski has let it be known that his collaboration with Matt Damon on Promised Land came about as a result of a double date set up by his wife, who starred with Damon in The Adjustment Bureau. Once again, Blunt, that charmer, must have captivated Luciana Damon enough to allow their hubbies all that time to talk shop. Blunt is great at the fix-up, remember: Her Devil Wears Prada costar Stanely Tucci just married her sister, Felicity!
Blusinski even threw Damon a birthday party for his big 4-2, a hoot of an affair at London burlesque club The Box, where fellow guests included Chris Hemsworth, his wife, Elsa Pataky, and Blunt's All You Need Is Kill costar Tom Cruise. (Maybe he's angling for a little of the Blunt fix-up magic...)
Who knew?! All of a sudden, there were Krasinski and Blunt comfortably vacationing with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux in Cabo San Lucas, a getaway that also included Jimmy Kimmel and his fiancée Molly McNearny.
So, six degrees of Emily and John or what?! May they continue to go forth and prosper among their friends and loved ones—aka the Hollywood A-list.
