We could only imagine how Kathy Griffin will try to congratulate Anderson Cooper on his latest honor.

Readers of Out magazine have voted CNN's Silver Fox as 2012's gay "Man of the Year."

After editors at the gay mag crowned political statistician Nate Silver as "Person of the Year," they asked their readers to vote on "Man of the Year."

With 10 names to choose from, Cooper came out on top with 29.2 percent of the vote followed by Star Trek star Zachary Quinto with 15.08 percent and musician Frank Ocean at 14.23 percent.

Then came Silver (12.58 percent), activist and writer Dan Savage (9.96 percent) and Bradley Manning (3.39 percent), the U.S. Army soldier accused of providing classified information to WikiLeaks.

Rounding out the list were Glee creator and new dad Ryan Murphy, Facebook cofounder Chris Hughes and fashion designer Alexander Wang.

Cooper publicly acknowledged he was gay for the first time in an interview with The Daily Beast. "The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself and proud," he said.
