We may be in the midst of winter, but we're already dreaming of warmer spring weather—and the new crop of trends the season will bring! In our excitement for the fab new fashions set to roll out over the next few months, we're breaking down the top 12 trends.

Yesterday we brought you the first batch of hot new looks we'll want to wear come spring, and today we're breaking down even more trends. From edgy eyewear to feminine ruffles, we're giving you the skinny on springtime style.

8. Ruffles: Girly-girls rejoice! Flirty ruffles popped up on everything from hemlines to sleeves on the spring runways of Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren and Gucci. For an unexpected but equally feminine alternative to spring's oh-so-popular florals, we'll add fab flair to our wardrobe with ruffled items like a ladlylike dress, fluttery sheer blouse or a sexy minidress

7. Bright Punchy Colors: There's nothing like a hard-to-miss perky palette to jolt you into a spring awakening. This year, shine bright in tart tangerines, radiant reds, playful pinks and sunny yellow hues, like the ones that dominated the eye-catching head-to-toe looks at Michael Kors, Lanvin and Burberry Prorsum. Ease into the trend with cropped pants, or boldly embrace it with a bright pink peplum number or a floor-length maxi dress.

6. Bold Sunglasses: There's no doubt the sun shines a little brighter come spring, so sunglasses are always a must-have accessory. Reach for a statement-making pair of sunnies, like Beyoncé's Prada Baroque shades with quirky stems, or add edge to your eyewear with round frames. A lovely lavender pair with chiseled detailing or boldly patterned shades also fit the bill.

5. Plaid: If you believe plaids are reserved for grungy warm-weather flannels, think again! Derek Lam, Marni and Hermes created lightweight, ladylike looks in the classic pattern usually reserved for fall. Work plaid pieces into your springtime wardrobe with a punk-inspired shift, elegant cocktail dress or a '90s throwback

Check back tomorrow for more incredible spring 2013 trends we're excited about!
