Tori Spelling, Finn, US Weekly

Tori Spelling's fourth pregnancy was anything but smooth sailing.

The 39-year-old actress and reality star opened up to Us Weekly in its latest issue about the life-threatening condition that posed danger to her and her unborn baby.

Twenty weeks into her pregnancy with baby Finn, Spelling was diagnosed with placenta previa, in which the placenta covers the cervix and causes severe bleeding. Her risks included the possibility of catastrophic hemorrhage that could even force termination of her pregnancy. (The condition resulted in part from conceiving Finn just one month after daughter Hattie's birth last October and having had three prior C-sections.)

Spelling spent 10 weeks hospitalized and four months on bed rest. "I just remember thinking, I can't leave three children behind," she says. In addition to baby Finn, Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are parents to Liam, 5, Stella, 4, and Hattie, 12 months.

After nine massive bleeds, Spelling welcomed Finn on Aug. 30, but underwent emergency surgery three weeks later as a result of her C-section scars reopening.

"When they put him in my arms I was like, 'We made it,''" she told the mag. "We have an insane bond. We've been through hell and back."
