Silly little high schoolers on The Vampire Diaries, don't you know dances are for deaths?

Three seasons in and the CW hit stills loves itself some good ol' drama at a decade dance and season three's '20s-themed fiesta in episode 20 looks to be no different, judging from these hot sneak-peek photos of the April 26 episode.

On the menu? Some angst between Caroline (Candice Accola) and the two hybrids in her life, Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan), plus some tears from Elena (Nina Dobrev) who turns to one Salvatore brother for a shoulder to cry on. At least Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jaime (Robert Ri'chard) look pretty darn adorable, right?!

While we're told Caroline and Tyler will have a romantic reunion when he returns in the episode before the dance, it seems their happiness will be shortlived if Klaus has anything to say about it. Hey, the last dance didn't work out so bad for Klaus when it came to Caroline, so we can't blame the guy for giving it another shot, much to Tyler's chagrin.

As for Elena, she decides to ask Stefan to be her date after Caroline makes the suggestion (What a Stelena shipper!), but don't fret, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) fans! The eternal stud will be making an appearance at the bash. Still, it seems like this will dance will continue Elena's streak of no-good, very-bad high school experiences as she's crying on Stefan's shoulder in one of the stills. We're guessing it probably has something to do with the death that occurs at the dance that Wesley told us about.

"These dances are so funny. They're dances and they all serve as a backdrop to murder," Paul teased. "It's like, 'We're going to dress you up in an extravagant period costume that no high school kid would ever have and have some vicious murder!'"

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
