Madonna asked the audience at Miami's Ultra Musical Festival on Saturday, "How many people in this crowd have seen molly?" Many people, including DJ and producer Deadmau5, thought the material girl was making a drug reference. (Molly is the pure form of ecstasy.)

Deadmau5 tweeted after the incident, "@MadonnaMDNAday You're a role model to 100's of millions. You have a powerful voice, EDM could use your positive influence, not 'molly' talk."

But Madge fired back with her own clever, punny response…

"@deadmau5 lovemaus5," she tweeted, linking to a black and white photo of herself dressed as Minnie Mouse.

In a cartoon style quote, she says, "From one mouse to another, I don't support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called "Have You Seen Molly" written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my album."

Deadmau5 accepted the explanation, tweeting back, "@MadonnaMDNAday sure. regardless, just be a little more aware of what you *should* represent at EDM events, and ill watch my mouth."

Madonna responded with a tweet, saying, "Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up 'privately.' ;) See you on the road."

"well there you have it kids," Deadmau5 tweeted. "i've said what i needed to say, which ill still stand by, and so did she. life goes on. no more talk of that."
