Not doubt Hollywood doors opened a little easier for hottie 21 Jump Street actor Dave Franco because of famous older brother, James.

But that doesn't mean the young Franco is looking for an easy ride…

"It's tough, man," Dave admitted to me at the South by Southwest premiere of 21 Jump Street. "As much as a I love him and I want to work with him, I want to separate myself from him."

And his killer performance in Jump Street will certainly help him do that. He plays a high school drug dealer being pursued by undercover cops Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

"I can't say I ever saw the original [television] series," Franco admitted. "But you've seen the movie. It's a completely different thing. The only crossover really is the concept of undercover cops. I did end up checking out a couple of old episodes to see if there's anything I could draw from but after watching them, it was like, that was an hour drama and we were making a huge action comedy."

A huge action comedy that's helped land him on the latest cover of GQ for the mag's inaugural Style Bible issue.

Franco has been an Internet sensation for some time now. He and some friends he's known since middle school have been making Funny or Die videos. To say they're sometimes raunchy is an understatement. Their latest NSFW project, a short called Would You Rather, also premiered at SXSW.

"I would love to direct," Franco said. "I've been writing a lot longer than I've been acting. I love to produce. We've been doing it on this small scale that I guess the ultimate goal is to work with these guys and start to make bigger and bigger projects."
