Lady Gaga has always created lots of noise with her loud fashion statements and outspoken opinions.

But here's some noisemaking news you probably didn't see coming: She's now planning to keep silent.

In an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey, the pop star reveals that she'll be pulling the plug on press interviews for the foreseeable future and taking a self-imposed vow of silence.

Speechless?

Here's what she had to say...

Per the San Francisco Chronicle, Gaga appears on Oprah's Next Chapter, which airs this Sunday, and tells Winfrey, "Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time...No press, no television. If my mom calls and says, ‘Did you hear about...' I shut it all off."

She goes on to admit that she doesn't care much for media coverage of her, saying, "I don't read a damn thing."

It's a dramatic about-face for the music icon, whose meteoric rise to stardom has been powered by an all-Gaga-all-the-time media blitz.

She recently made headlines for launching her Born This Way Foundation, a youth-empowerment initiative with a strong anti-bullying focus.

Don't expect Gaga to be too tight-lipped, though: She recently became the first person to nab 20 million followers on Twitter, which means we can hopefully still expect some Gaga news to trickle in...at 140 characters at a time.
