The Fighter Premiere Brings Out the Fab and the Fashion Challenged

Bale looks less than sexy at the premiere—do you care?

Talk about staying in character.

While costars Amy Adams and Mark Wahlberg got all dolled up for the L.A. premiere of their Oscar-fodder flick, The Fighter, Christian Bale showed up looking more prepared for a workout than a glitzy red carpet.

Hey, we love track jackets and jeans as much as the next person, but we can't help but wonder: Where did has that sexy Batman gone? Or is the whole serious-actor, who-gives-an-ef ‘tude working for you?

Must 'fess, we miss the chic Christian, but we're OK with him ditching the tux until he walks the red carpet for the next installment in the Batman franchise (whenever the hell that happens...if it does).

It's très adorable how connected C.B. seems to be to the real Dickie Ward, whom he plays in the movie—that's Dickie's gym logo embroidered on Christian's jacket. Talk about good advertising. Aw, look! The temper tantrum throwing thespian has a heart after all!

And Christian wasn't the only one who seems to have bonded with the individual they portrayed on the big screen. After the credits rolled, Christian and Mark both grabbed the mic and called the Ward brothers up to the front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre to thank them and have quite the hug fest.

OK, fine, we forgive the wardrobe, but what's with the crazy hair, Christian?

Let's just hope it's trimmed come Oscar time, 'cause we wouldn't be surprised in the least if this whole cast nabbed noms for their roles—especially Christian, who stole the show as a crack-addicted former boxer (and Amy shined in Best Supporting Actress-style as Mark's onscreen, tough-as-nails GF).

The love-fest continued on to the afterparty—held at The Annex at Hollywood and Highland—where each of the trio held court in various parts of the swanky soiree.

Marky Mark—who early in the night made a quick pit stop in the restroom and left his bodyguards laughing when he seemed to be trapped inside—was more than happy to chat with fans and pose for cell phone pics as they approached his posse to congratulate him on the flick.

Amy, looking gorge in a stylish gray dress and bright red lipstick, worked the room, mingling with whoever she happened to bump into (sometimes literally), eventually ending up near Christian's tucked away corner, where the two happily hugged and snapped a few pictures.

Other celebs in attendance were Will Ferrell, Michael J. Fox, Star Trek cutie Anton Yelchin and Jeremy Piven, who spent the night sitting near the bar with a bevy of young babes at his side.

Oh, please, Jer, we are getting so bored with this babe-bevy biz. Give it up, already.
