Baseball has been very, very good to Joel McHale. Yes, he's conquered the worlds of stand-up comedy, sitcoms and, of course, basic-cable clip shows, but, unless you show up early at select major league games, you may be unaware that your beloved Soup host is a veteran first-ball thrower-outer.

Last night on Conan, the lanky hurler dropped by to reveal his frank thoughts on what it takes to take the mound.

  

 

 

 

 

"You get up in front of thousands and thousands of people…" says Conan, "and you think, this is the time it's going to go very badly."

What's the big deal? It hasn't bothered Leno.
