If you haven't heard, Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell has just released The Carrie Diaries, a young adult novel about Ms. Bradshaw's high school years.
When we recently asked Parker who she'd like to see playing a 17-year-old Carrie, she quickly insisted, "I don't know." But then, without missing a beat, she added…
"Maybe they should use old footage of me!" said Parker, whose second SATC flick is out May 27. "And in this new age of Avatar, what about a new 17-year-old S.J.?"
Of course, we couldn't help but suggest taking a look at Parker's days back in the very early '80s, playing dorked-out Patty Greene on CBS television series Square Pegs. SJP laughed, "That might have been Carrie in high school."
The Carrie Diaries takes us back to our favorite fashionista's days at Castlebury High in Connecticut. She's the oldest of three sisters whose mom died at an early age. And yup, she has three best girlfriends. But no, they are not Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte.
Reviewing the book for the Los Angeles Times, E! Online's very own Joal Ryan praised it as "addictive" with Bushnell "smartly" explaining things such as—gasp!—when and in what city Carrie lost her virginity.
