Paparazzi, take note: Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney's love is not for sale! Um…unless you work for ABC.
Last season's flip-flopping Bachelor and his second-banana TV bride had their big day nearly ruined over the weekend by a particularly determined pair of paparazzi.
The couple's security managed to tackle the offending shutterbugs before they could document every moment of the union for public consumption—and presumably scoop next week's ABC special.
And now the showdown looks like it could play out in a courtroom battle between the newlyweds and the photogs.
Eric Brogmus and Maximiliano Lopes were caught by the burly guards while attempting to take photos of the wedding (which was held on public property) from a nearby trail. While they maintained that they hadn't broken any laws, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies took both men into custody and held them until nearly 2:30 a.m.
Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told E! News that the guards held the cameramen on citizens arrests until deputies arrived, and that the paparazzi were eventually cited with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor unlawful blocking of a walkway.
No, seriously. (For a counterpoint, their tussle with security was captured on tape and edited down to a video portraying the paps as the real victims by their camera-wielding pals.)
Each received a citation and a notice to appear in court on March 28.
Meanwhile, a source close to the photographers tells E! News that at least one of the men is meeting with an attorney and will consider pressing charges against the suddenly camera-shy couple. Filing a police report is typically a precursor to a lawsuit.
