We heart shimmer and sequins as much as the next girlie-girl, but there's a fine line between pretty 'n' shiny and looking like a human disco ball.

Nobody wants to be described as a giant ball. That's the worst.

So even though it's tempting to be totally sparkletastic around the holidays, please learn from the mistakes of Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, New Moon's Christian Serratos and Selena Gomez (yep, it even happened to this junior fashionista).

Stay away from metallic tile prints and don't do head-to-toe silver—'cause you wanna be the life of the party, not the orb spinning on the ceiling.
