Heroes: The fans have spoken. One day after you voted by an overwhelming majority that you'd like Sendhil Ramamurthy to be the next star killed off of Heroes, NBC announced he's been cast in a new pilot called Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. So this means his character Mohinder is going to die, right? Well...maybe. There might be a much bigger death in the works: the series. A well-placed Heroes source tells me of Sendhil's casting: "Everyone is expecting this to be the last season. The cast, the crew, everyone." Which would explain why Sendhil has been cast in an NBC pilot. Clearly, the Peacock peeps wouldn't place Sendhil (who is pretty funny in real life, by the way, and who should do well on a dramedy) on a new series if they expected a conflict ahead.

A rep for NBC tells us: "Rex is just a pilot right now, so [Sendhil] is still on Heroes. Rex is in second position to Heroes." Other recent members of the "second position" club, who were cast on a new series before their own series was officially canceled include: Brian Austin Greene (Terminator/Body Politic), Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle/Eastwick) and Tyler Labine (Reaper/Sons of Tucson)...and many others I'm sure we're forgetting.

Oh, and possibly Ashley Jensen, who now stars on Accidentally on Purpose after leaving Ugly Betty, which just got a shiny new time slot that may be its salvation...

Ugly Betty: Sources confirm what we first reported, that Ugly Betty will indeed be moving to Wednesday nights in 2010, occupying Eastwick's former stomping ground and creating a solid comedy night for ABC. I'm told that although the writers and producers have accepted this may be the last season, they aren't giving up just yet—and neither is ABC. Hence the move off of those dastardly Friday nights, which were slaughtering Betty in the ratings. Word is, the ABC execs will be watching the numbers closely—especially for this Friday's big Bahamas episode—in order to determine whether Betty will come back next fall. So be sure to watch on Friday (and keep watching, and Twitter a friend) if you want to see Betty stick around.

Do you think Heroes and Betty are going to survive to next season? Do you want them too? Hit the comments!
