Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) and Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) are never, ever, ever getting together on 30 Rock.

Newly trophied Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Tina Fey has repeatedly said "no way José" to the idea of a Jack-Liz hookup—and all that schmoopy "shippy" B.S. is totally beneath an outstanding comedic television program like 30 Rock anyway. Right?

Sure, except, well, I checked the weather forecast for 30 Rock season three, and I think that a cold day in hell could be coming to pass...

As you no doubt saw during Sunday's Live from the Red Carpet on E!, when Ryan Seacrest asked Tina Fey about the sexual tension between Jack and Liz, she totally copped to it, saying, "I think you're right. I think we're going to fight it forever, but it's definitely under there."

Now, I've always thought that 30 Rock protesteth too much about the idea of Jack and Liz getting romantic, and in several of the new season's first episodes, I'll be darned if the show doesn't seem to be exploring the possibility of a nonplatonic, dare I say even romantic Jack-Liz thing!

NBC

According to my sources, in those first few episodes:

• There are some fervent denials that anything could be going on between Liz and Jack (which means something is totally going on).
• Jack and Liz spend some quality time together in a locked box.
• The prominence of Liz's position on Jack's speed dial is discussed.
• Liz even has a heart-to-heart with her best friend Jenna (Jane Krakowski) about the crazy, mixed-up mess that is her relationship with Jack!

Don't you dare say that's just me seeing potential schmoopiness where it doesn't really exist...

Of course, they're probably just mocking anyone who's invested in such a thing—I mean, come on, fangirls are sitting ducks for smart-aleck comedy writers—but I also get the feeling that everyone involved (the show's writers and the characters Jack and Liz themselves) is a little curious about the possibilities for those two.

I think we can all agree that Jack and Liz "Rock" just as they are, but would you be cool if they, like, went to first base? Post your 'pinion in the comments, and don't forget to tune in for the 30 Rock season premiere on Thurs., Oct. 30 at 9:30 p.m. on NBC!
