CSI is moving to Wednesdays next season, and Laurence Fishburne is not going with it.

After two and a half seasons on the current granddaddy of CBS procedurals, the Oscar nominee has opted not to renew his contract, Deadline.com reports.

Aw, so soon?

It's actually not a shock, considering last time his contract was up for renewal, Fishburne only signed up for one more season.

The serious thesp was generally considered a strong addition to the show, but CSI never quite recovered from the ratings hit it took when William Petersen left after eight and a half seasons of running his team of super sleuths at the Vegas crime lab.

But, after being stabbed by his nemesis one year and defiantly coming back to testify against him in the next, Dr. Ray Langston will be missed.

Of course, the real question now is, who, if anyone, is going to replace Laurence Fishburne?!
