We all know Brad Pitt loves his costars. Remember how Mr. & Mrs. Smith ended up?

Six years, six children and multiple mansions later, the real-life Mr. & Mrs. Smith are still going strong.

But other than Ange, which former costar does Brad like enough to take a night out of his busy A-list father-of-six schedule to support?

Tony Soprano himself, James Gandolfini.

Gandolfini starred alongside Pitt and his pal Julia Roberts in the 2001 film The Mexican, directed by Gore Verbinski.

So in true supportive friend form, Brad brought his gal Angie to opening night of Gandolfini's new play, God of Carnage, at the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday night.

"They came through a private entrance and went backstage after the show to visit with the cast. They were invited on behalf of James Gandolfini," a source tells us. "Everyone who interacted with them at the theater was enamored with them."

Those "enamored" with Brangelina included Gandolfini's costars in the play, Jeff Daniels, Marcia Gay Harden and Hope Davis.

Other A-listers in the audience who witnessed The Brangelina: Will Ferrell, Sandra Oh, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Anjelica Huston, Gina Gershon, Tony Shalhoub, Camryn Manheim, Jason Alexander, Brad Goreski and Martin Sheen.

Sorry Charlie, looks like your pops chose to see this play instead of catching one of your Torpedoes of Truth.
