Even though I don't look it, I'm barking mad, you heathen humans. Statistically, while Paris Hilton and her celeb ilk adopt needlessly bred fancy, furry things, more and more of my lot are getting euthanized in area shelters every year. I could spit out my fave squirrel I'm so pissed about this!

See, Social Compassion in Legislation (a California-based nonprofit focusing on reducing pet overpopulation) reported that the total number of euthanized cats and dogs entering California municipal shelters increased...

The figure grew 14.6 percent statewide between 2004 to 2008 (from 378,445 to 433,512). If Ted hadn't saved me from the South L.A. Shelter, I'd probably have been put down, so I know what the woof I'm talking about. Also, the total number of cats and dogs entering shelters went up 14.6 percent (from 729,238 to 835,642). Thus, there was a 14.6 percent rise in cats and dogs entering shelters from '04-‘08, and a 14.6 percent increase in euthanized cats and dogs in those exact same shelters.

This doesn't include private shelters, so it may be assumed that a minimum of 500,000 pets are euthanized in California shelters each year.

Did you read that? A half-million guys like me run the risk of being put down while puppy mills are allowed to stay in business. Why isn't there a law against that? Obama, I know my dad's pissed at you about not sticking up for gay rights, so be warned, this is my pet peeve: Help make it the law that no animals are allowed to be bred until every last animal in this country's shelters are adopted.

And yeah, I've done my part. Got my damn tubes tied! Hurt like a mother!
