Here we go again—another Real Housewife wants to be a singer.

Melissa Gorga, one of the two new stars of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, thinks the reality show could be her gateway to singing stardom.

Even if it means having her tumultuous family drama play out on national television, including the brawl that erupted at her own baby's christening...

You see, Melissa is married to Teresa Giudice's brother, Joe. The siblings used to be besties until Joe and Melissa married.

The fight at the christening was set off after Joe and Teresa exchanged some not-so-nice words. "You know, it's a little crazy and that's why it did take me six months to sign the papers to be on the show," Melissa tells me. "I did have a feeling that something would happen, just knowing the background with me and Teresa and the whole family situation."

Even so, Melissa said, "There's only one life, and I have a four-song EP coming out with so many amazing producers. I thought it would be a great stepping-stone for that...Music was my first love. It's been around before the Housewives even ever were known."

That's nice and all, but as we know, reality television is all about drama. Who wants to watch Melissa in a recording studio when we could see her husband liquored up and blowin' his top off?

Melissa is already trying to explain away her husband's about-to-bust-a-capillary rage at the christening. "When we love, we love hard," she said. "And when my husband loves, he loves hard. When he's upset, he shows his emotions. [But] I have no doubt in my mind that people will totally understand why he acted the way he did."

Melissa and Joe met while both were on spring break in Cancun. They have three kids, 5-year-old Antonia, 3-year-old Gino and 11-month-old Joey.

"I kind of live an over-the-top life and I admit it," Melissa says. "But nobody handed it to us. Joe and I worked really really hard for the life we live. We weren't born with silver spoons in our mouths whatsoever." (FYI: Joe is in real estate.)

"I am nervous and I am worried," Melissa admits. "I've seen a couple of the promos and believe me, I've gasped for air a couple of times already. I just hope that the true me will come out."

How are things with Teresa today? Eh.

"She's my sister-in-law and we live in the same town," Melissa says. "You can't choose your family. We have children the same age, and of course I would never want to pull the cousins away from each other. But are we best friends? Absolutely not."
